What League does LJB play in?

LJB plays in the Sierra Athletic Conference (SAC) sierraathleticconference.com

How old does my child need to be to play Football or Cheer?

Your child must be between the ages of 6-14 years old and not a high school student. There are four team levels;

•  Jr. Pee Wee (1st to 4th grade) - DOB: 08/02/14 - 08/01/18 (6.0, 7.0, 8.0, and 9.0-year-olds)
•  Pee Wee (5th and 6th Grade) - DOB: 08/02/12 - 08/01/16 (8.0, 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0-year-olds)
• Jr. Midgets (7th Grade) - DOB: 08/02/11 - 08/01/13 (11.0 and 12.0 year olds)
• Midget (8th Grade) - DOB: 08/02/09 - 08/01/12 (12.0, 13.0, and 14.0 year olds)

No, Athletes are placed in age specific divisions. If an athlete is eligible to play in multiple divisions the LJB board of directors is the sole discretion for all player placement decisions.

Is my child guaranteed play time?

Yes, SAC requires that all players receive a minimum of eight plays per game depending on the team size.  Additional playing time is at the discretion of the coaching staff, who will determine a player's playing time based on, but not limited to, safety, skill, practice drills, conditioning, leadership, discipline, and practice attendance. Missed practices may impact play time.

When does the Season officially start?

The season starts in Mid-July with mandatory participation. The 2024 seasons official start date is July 15th.

What time do games start?

Typical Game Start times are 10am, 12pm, 2pm, & 4pm in the team age order.

Can I use a popup canopy or Umbrella in the stands?

Yes, popups and umbrellas may be used on the stands on the top rows only. Any popup or umbrella that is blocking the view of the announcer's booth or spectators view is not allowed and will be asked to be moved or taken down.

What time does football and cheer practice?

Typically, practice is from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Lindhurst High School. Practice days to be announced.

Can I watch my child practice?

Yes, parents and visitors may watch practice from a distance and are asked to remain off of the practice fields, the practice fields are reserved for coaches, and athletes. Practice time is limited, so it is important that coaches have the opportunity to make the best use of practice time. If you must speak to a coach, please contact them before or after practice. LJB retains the exclusive right to request the removal of disruptive parents or visitors. Please see Parent Code of Conduct in your registration.

What if my child misses practice?

If your child cannot be at a practice, it is mandatory that one of the coaches be notified prior to practice. If an athlete misses practice it becomes a safety issue for the athlete and team. Your child's start time and play time may be impacted by missed practices. 

When are fees due?

• Early bird registration fees are due by May 31st, 2024. After May 31st the fee will increase to the Regular amount.
• Regular and late registration fees are due by July 14th, 2024.

What can I do to satisfy my required volunteer hours?

LJB is a volunteer-based program. We require each family to volunteer 8 hours to help the program run smoothly. We need assistance in many areas such as our firework booth, the front gate, chains, PAR, snack bar, and other positions as needed that will be announced. If a team fails to have a volunteer for PAR, the game will be an automatic forfeit for that team.

What if I cannot volunteer for 8 hours this season?

We offer a volunteer buy-out option. The buy-out is $100 per family. 

What football equipment do I need to supply?

You will need to supply football cleats and extra mouthpieces if necessary. 

What football equipment will LJB supply?

Equipment provided for use during the season, includes a certified helmet, shoulder pads, one mouthpiece, game jerseys and pants. Equipment must be returned at the conclusion of the season including, helmet, shoulder pads, and game day pants.

What is an equipment deposit?

We require a $400 undated Check or Money Order for Football equipment. The check or money order is due prior to equipment being issued and will be returned once all equipment is turned back in to LJB. In the event that not all equipment is returned, the Check or Money Order will be cashed.
